1. Handling Personal Information
All Personally Identifiable Information (PII) under healthcare accounts are encrypted and stored on secure servers to ensure its protection. For further security, this information isn’t included in Email Notifications.
2. Data Encryption
Any ePHI (electronic Protected Health Information) stored on our servers is encrypted for increased security. This encryption process safeguards confidential data against unauthorized access, providing protection during data transfer and preserving the privacy of customer information in the event of a breach. Nimbata helps protect any Patient data (PHI) by encrypting your information during transit and at rest.
3. Business Associate Agreement (BAA)
Business Associate Contract, or Business Associate Agreement, is a written arrangement that specifies each party’s responsibilities when it comes to PHI.
HIPAA requires Covered Entities to only work with Business Associates who assure complete protection of PHI. These assurances have to be in writing in the form of a contract or other agreement between the Covered Entity and the BA.
